TypePad

he.jpgThe beta period is over for TypePad, and I'm sticking with it. Also, I'm now allowed to talk about it. It's a good service and, I think, worth the money. The main advantage, as far as I'm concerned, is total ease of use. If you know nothing about this stuff except what one looks like, you will be completely done setting up your new blog within the hour. And it'll have all the bells and whistles. It's about as complicated as signing up for a hotmail account, sending and receiving email. And you need to know about as much about what's going on under the hood. Seriously, it's gotten that simple. Just thought I'd mention it.

  • Confused by our comment policy?

We're testing a strong CC license as a form of troll repellant. Does that sound strange? Read this thread. (I know, it's long. Keep scrolling. Further. Further. Ah, there.) So basically, we figure trolls will recognize that selling coffee cups and t-shirts is the best revenge, and will keep away. If we're wrong about that, at least someone can still sell the cups and shirts. (Sigh.)
