Meet the new boss

he.jpgViolet will be here soon, so I thought one last Zoëblog while she's still got the world to herself might be nice:

We don't have Target in Singapore, so I can't do the whole Lileks thing. But we live about 5 blocks from Ikea, and Zoë likes to go there and pretend she lives in the various rooms. This is ethical if you spend a lot of money at IKEA, which we do. Here she is pretending to sleep in one of the beds.

Then a nice lady walked up to me and told me not to take pictures in Ikea. I guess when you're the richest guy in the world, you can't take chances, eh?

Then on the way home we pass this banner advertisement:

Interesting to think about how and why no American would ever call a school for tots - in so many words - 'Little Bosses'. And the bosses look cute enough. And, after all, in the future someone will have to be in total, complete control. Might as well be MY kid.

I think I achieve the same thing at home for the $1.20 it costs to buy an ice cream cone downstairs at the the little store. So first you get the kid hopped up and wearing a sugar Van Dyke:

Then you let her wear your Andre the Giant OBEY shirt and run around like a mad thing for 15 minutes.

Then tell mommy that you have important photoblogging to do and she can put the 'little boss' to bed tonight.

  • Confused by our comment policy?

We're testing a strong CC license as a form of troll repellant. Does that sound strange? Read this thread. (I know, it's long. Keep scrolling. Further. Further. Ah, there.) So basically, we figure trolls will recognize that selling coffee cups and t-shirts is the best revenge, and will keep away. If we're wrong about that, at least someone can still sell the cups and shirts. (Sigh.)
