» Reminder from Burnt Orange Report
The Presidential Prayer Team (as noted by Belle Waring) requests prayers for Attorney General John Ashcroft this week. You know, a strict reading of 1 Timothy doesn't say you have to pray for your leaders to keep on doing what... [Read More]

Creepier still to pull into a parking space at the Home Depot next to a Cadillac and realize as you're getting out that there's a Presidential Prayer Team sticker on the windshield.

In cyberspace, it could just be a hoax...

Tsk; you could have read about this more than a month ago.

I shall pray for you.

Prayer works wonders!

Truly, wise you grow, my sister. Yet, wiser still, grow you may yet. Use the b******l; it is your destiny.

Is there any principle at work in the choice of officials for whom one should pray? Is it the kiss of death? A priest in my home town used to ask his parishioners, from time to time, to pray that God would grant wisdom to one or other of the local politicians - the implication being that he had departed from the straight-and-narrow.

Is that the idea here? Notice that the officials listed have to deal with environmentalists, trades unionists and criminals. Ample scope for corrupting influence there, while hurricanes could presumably tempt one into the sin of despair.

I see that Paul Wolfowitz has now been added. Grant us oh Lord, that Wolfie gets a job he knows something about fairly soon.

  • Confused by our comment policy?

We're testing a strong CC license as a form of troll repellant. Does that sound strange? Read this thread. (I know, it's long. Keep scrolling. Further. Further. Ah, there.) So basically, we figure trolls will recognize that selling coffee cups and t-shirts is the best revenge, and will keep away. If we're wrong about that, at least someone can still sell the cups and shirts. (Sigh.)
