"Like That One" Sale

she.jpgA bit late to be letting you all know, but my friend Cheu and I are having a sale today and tomorrow (15/02 and 16/02) out front of Singapore Management University (60 and 80 Stamford Road, but we are on the Bras Basah Road side). It's some artwork, mirrors with découpaged frames, small hand-painted items like pharmacy jars, trays, and some rehabbed vintage furniture. It's our first try at selling the things, so I'm excited. I would be even more excited if I could go, but unfortunately I am sick, in an astounding, unheard-of manouver on my part. Still, Cheu will be down there, so go check it out. The Chingay parade goes right by there this evening too. Our business is called "like that one". (For the non-Singlish-speaking, "like that one" means, of that sort: "His Singlish very good already!" "Ah, like that one, is it?". There's maybe a hint of "he thinks he's so wonderful" in there.) More pictures under the fold. If non-Singaporean readers are in love with something contact me.

I liked that tray. I'll be there if I can get a flight.

The ice bucket is totally awesome. But what's with the UFO over the temple?

I hand-tinted a big engraving and then collaged some images onto it, like the row-houses behind the wall and the UFO, among others.

Holy frijoles - that table is wild. The UFO is a nice touch too.

Beautiful stuff (and I too did a double-take on the UFO) -- just be careful...

Wow, the pink and purple table is just fab! Did I say "just fab?" Anyhow, I wish I could get there for the sale but I live in the States.
On another subject, wonderful work on the blog, it has given me much enjoyment over the last couple of years :)

We're testing a strong CC license as a form of troll repellant. Does that sound strange? Read this thread. (I know, it's long. Keep scrolling. Further. Further. Ah, there.) So basically, we figure trolls will recognize that selling coffee cups and t-shirts is the best revenge, and will keep away. If we're wrong about that, at least someone can still sell the cups and shirts. (Sigh.)
