So Zoë invented the ultimate cute pet. The merbil. Half fish. Half gerbil.
Also, I bought her several Mary Blair books. (I Can Fly; Cinderella; Art and Flair of Mary Blair.) She's learned a lot from it. The following is actually not a copy of any specific Mary Blair drawing but an independent creation, in the Blair style. I couldn't be prouder if she were drawing like Jack Kirby.

No. She would be terrified by Pullman. (She's a fraidy cat.) She's never read it. But she was rather fascinated by the movie posters, and the idea of having your own personal polar bear.
She's just got this mer-thing going on. Lots of mer-this and that.

That mermaid needs some nipples! You should try to get her to draw some of the more terrifying mer-creatures, the kind that have fish heads and land-creature bottoms. We don't see enough of those.
