Hey lookee! I got a metafilter link for Squid and Owl. And you know what's funny? Just about an hour before I got that link, I set up - for the first time - this site. Because I sort of need a homepage for my design stuff besides this blog, and besides my official academic CV page. So I get to christen my new page by cracking a bottle of frothy bubbly geek traffic.
Anyway, mostly I'm glad to get some attention for the Squid and Owl stuff. It's nice - oh sure - chatting with the cozy 6 or 7 of you who still drop by J&B regularly. But glory and fame is nice, too.
Congratulations on the glory! But I do wish you might serve us up some nice knock-down arguments as well. Preferably at Holbonic length a/o/t Owlish brevity. I miss that stuff.

And of course I did catch the Lewis Carrol reference. (But you knew that already.

Methinks the undercounting of regular fans just might be a side effect of RSS. I read, umm, pretty much within a day of when a post comes up. I've convinced my dear mother -- who has barely heard of this thing we kids call "feed readers" -- to do the same.
But and thought while I love the Owl/Squid stuff, I genuinely miss the several thousand words on Nietzsche and //Eternal Sunshine//.

Speaking of, John, don't get excited about "Gary Hatfield"; it's, um, fundamentally a "joke" about Dennis Stampe.
